Smart people: Messy Decisions

This is my exact corner of the universe: smart, self-aware characters making deeply questionable choices—especially when they know better. I’m drawn to the moment when someone realizes that doing everything “right” isn’t actually working, and instead of shrinking or course-correcting, they double down and get creative. Not because they’re reckless, but because the alternative is a kind of quiet erasure.

My characters are competent, ambitious, and emotionally fluent… and still completely capable of blowing up their own lives in ways that are both absurd and painfully relatable. They overthink, overcorrect, spiral, rationalize—and then act anyway. The comedy comes from that friction: between who they are, who they think they should be, and what they actually want.

This is the tone I bring to everything I write: messy, grounded, character-driven stories, mostly about women navigating love, ambition, and identity in real time. I’m interested in the gray areas—where good intentions meet bad decisions, where control gives way to impulse, and where people are allowed to be complicated, funny, and a little bit destructive on the way to figuring themselves out.
